Carl Quintanilla (born September 10, 1970 in Midland, Michigan) is an American journalist working for ''CNBC''. Previously, he was an anchor of CNBC's ''Squawk on the Street'', ''Squawk Box'', and ''Squawk Alley'' morning programs, both of which broadcast live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. He has also served as an NBC News correspondent based in New York and Chicago, and has substituted on both the ''NBC Nightly News'' and the ''Today Show''. ==Early life and education==
Quintanilla attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, in Boulder, Colorado, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1993. He interned at Westword Magazine in Denver, CO under Patricia Calhoun the editor-in-chief.
